Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, the incumbent provides leadership and direction to shift employees; manages daily operation of the shift while maintaining quality Company standards quality, health and safety requirements. The incumbent also gives direct assistance in the production and distribution of snacks for schools in accordance with specifications, targets and the group (s) specified.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Management /Administrative:

Technical / Professional:
- Develop a work environment that encourages compliance with the Company safety and employment guidelines
- Supervise, manage and direct shift employees, ensuring employees are following safe food handling practices and regulatory compliance while producing quality products
- Keep current records of all production activities on a daily basis
- Oversee the entire operations of the Plant when working on the back shifts (2:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. and/or 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. shifts), Sundays and weekends.
- Make requisitions for raw materials in order to produce the required amount of solids and liquids as per target.
- Ensure that all records of overtime, absenteeism, downtime, commodity utilization and production figures are accurately kept up-to-date.
- Ensure by constant monitoring, that solids and liquids are done as per specification. This should include sensory testing prior to the distribution of snacks.
- Ensure that all employees are appropriately attired for their jobs.
- Ensure that all employees under his/her supervision possess up-to-date Food Handlers’ Permits.
- Ensure that all machinery/equipment are fully maintained
- Ensure that proper sanitary and hygienic conditions are maintained
- Review all accidents and incident investigations with the objective of taking action to eliminate future occurrences
- Produce and distribute reports as requested by management
Human Resource Responsibilities:
- Monitors and evaluates the performance of direct reports, prepares performance appraisals and recommends and/or initiate corrective actions wherever necessary to improve performance and/or established personal and/or organizational goals;
- Participates in the recruitment of staff for the Division and recommends transfers, promotion, termination and leave in accordance with established Human Resource Policies and Procedures;
- Develops and implements a programme of Succession Planning for the Department to facilitate continuity and the availability of required skills and competencies to meet the needs of the Division;
- Provides leadership and guidance to direct reports through effective planning, delegation, communication, training, mentoring and coaching;
- Ensures the welfare and developmental needs of staff in the Department are clearly identified and addressed;
- Establishes and maintains a system that fosters a culture of teamwork, employee empowerment and commitment to the Department’s and Company’s goals

- Reports are comprehensive and accurately prepared and submitted within established timeframe
- Staff issues are clearly identified and addressed on a timely basis
Authority:
- Recommend appointment, promotion, transfers, training, re-assignment and dismissal of direct /indirect reports in accordance with established policies and procedures

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Production Operations Management or
equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution
- Five (5) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry; one (1) of which should be at the supervisory level
REMUNERATION
Basic Salary: $2,803,771.00 – $3,770,761.00 per annum
