The objective of the Management Information Systems [MIS] Department is to employ the technology and resources available to implement systems and procedures that facilitate an efficient and effective means by which information and data can be collected, shared and disseminated throughout the Company.
The department:
- Guides the decision making process when the company is seeking to determine their technology or information goals and ensures the necessary planning to implement those goals.
- Evaluates how new technology can help the organization and recommend technological solutions to support management decisions.
- Is in charge of the organization’s Information Technology department, the supervision thereof and for implementing/enforcing policies governing the use of the company’s network services.
- Develops programmes to provide information and awareness to employees about security threats and to investigate and report on any security violations.
