The Internal Audit Department’s main role is to undertake appraisal or monitoring activities for the review of accounting and internal control systems. The Internal Auditors function involves, among other things, examining, evaluating and reporting to the Management and Board of Directors on the adequacy and effectiveness of components of the accounting and internal control systems as a contribution to the proper, economic, efficient and effective use of resources.
The Internal Audit Department helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
The Department monitors and evaluates the entire system of internal control while maintaining independence from responsibility for management direction and control.
