JOB SUMMARY:

The Management Information Systems (MIS) Technician is responsible for ensuring that Nutrition Products Limited employs the technology and resources available to implement systems and procedures that facilitate an efficient and effective means by which information and data can be shared and disseminated throughout the company.

  • Technical support provided to staff

  • Recommendation for upgrades or changes to IT systems made
  • Repair hardware where possible

 

Duties and

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining the Company’s network systems and infrastructure – domain, and application, switches, routers, cat 5e/6 and fibre-optic cables, user-computers, multi-function printers, toners and ink cartridges, cartridges, photocopiers, fax machines, and data backup drives.
  • Identifying issues and make recommendation for continued maintenance of software and hardware components.
  • Assist in the implementation of data recovery methods where necessary.
  • Asist the Technical Support Officer to perform system audit and functionality checks at all Plants – audit each desk-user’s computer usage, check for peer-to-peer network connectivity, perform system and keyboard cleaning and ensure access to shared resources.
  • Assist in performing network system analysis and make recommendations for changes or re-engineering of the company’s IT infrastructure.
  • Assist in provide regular service/repair to computers and printers at both Plants.
  • Any other duty assigned. 

 

Performance Standards:

  • Technical support provided to staff in a timely and relevant manner
  • Company’s network system maintained on a regular basis and downtime minimized
  • Data backup system in place and backups conducted on a regular basis to avoid loss of data.
  • Repair hardware where possible to effect a saving in company resources

 

Required Competence:

  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and software applications
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ or ITIL Foundation
  • Two (2) years working with SAGE 300
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Strong knowledge of firewalls, routers and switching

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Batchelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in technical support or related field
  • Experience with help desk software and ticketing systems
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies and virtualization
  • Experience with IT project management and coordination

 

REMUNERATION

Basic Salary: $2,838,816.00 per annum
